SITIE was born in 1945, in Ferrara, from the entrepreneurial initiative of the families Barzetti and Finzi Contini, which constituted it as an enterprise of industrial installation and of production of light carpentry.
They develop it from the Ferrara petrochemical pole, specializing in the field of instrumentation and plant automation, contributing significantly to the different projects of the oil and petrochemical industry in Italy after World War II.

A HISTORY OF SUCCESS AND INTERNAZIONALIZATION
In the wake of the company's success, the second-generation entrepreneur faces a brave internationalization process that in 1975-2000 brings SITIE to work in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America and Latin America.
Around the year 2000 SITIE is an Enterprise that invoices 20 M € per year, employs some hundreds of engineers and field technicians, collaborates with the largest and most qualified Contractors in the world, and has faced and overcome the barriers of internationalization, working in 4 continents.
MANAGEMENT PROCESSING AND INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION
With over half a century of successful history, between 2000 and 2010, SITIE faces the evolutionary process that will lead it to overcome the organizational structure of entrepreneurialism to address the stage of delegation, formalization of processes, matrix organizational models.
During this period, Technip-KTI S.p.A replaces one of the two founding families (the Finzi Contini family), which gives further impetus to the industrial and managerial transformation.
DIVERSIFICATION OF MARKETS AND PRODUCTS. THE SITIE "GROUP"
With the transition to the third generation business, and with the replacement of the Aurora 2010 industrial partner with Technip KTI (meanwhile under the control of the Maire-Tecnimont group), SITIE addresses the theme of diversification from the O & G market that does not promise the largest expansive phases, and progressively adds to its traditional industrial sectors:
- Electromechanical installation in the field of large infrastructure
- Project management in the field of Energy Saving (ESCO)
- The creation and development of mixed societies in Kazakhstan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
- Engineering in the fields of water, energy, environment, and collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering of the Biomedical Campus of Rome
